Many wholesalers and prospectors welcome you from the entrance, along the main path, in a relaxed atmosphere.
The amateur area
In the shade of the plane trees, many private collectors and members of geology clubs offer the finds of their field trips for exchange or sale.

A little history
Founded in 1972 by three friends who shared the same passion, searching the local countryside for minerals and fossils, the Millau mineral fair quickly became a must-attend event in the mineral world.
A fair that went international
Over the years, the fair welcomed more and more exhibitors and became a truly international event, with dealers from Romania, Russia, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Morocco…
Held in the summer, it attracts enthusiasts who make the most of it to spend their holidays here and discover our beautiful region. An exchange area for amateur collectors has added to its reputation.
Taken over by the Kristalia association
Its appeal never faded over the years. That is why the news of its cancellation in 2016 hit like a mineralogical tsunami.
As a native of Millau who owes my passion for minerals to this fair, taking over its organisation and adapting to new constraints (security rules, renovation of the park and now covid-19) was an obvious choice.
Our association, Kristalia, made up mainly of my family and close friends, works to keep this fair in its traditional form.
The three areas of the Millau mineral fair
What makes the fair so attractive and original is that it is organised in three parts:
- A hall with very fine stands showing exceptional pieces.
- An outdoor area for wholesale and retail sales.
- An area for amateur collectors.
Under current regulations, setting up in the exchange area can no longer be done in the free-for-all way that its participants loved so much. It still exists, though, in a more organised form that follows the required rules.
